PT Cable Locating At Apartment Complex in Layton, Utah

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems was called by an apartment manager to locate post tension cables inside a concrete slab. The manager was remodeling the bathroom and needed to relocate the piping for the bathtub drain. The contractor informed the manager that there was post tension inside the slab and to safely core drill the new drain location they needed to use Ground Penetrating Radar to locate the post tension. GPRS came out and successfully located all of the post tension inside the slab for a safe cored drill and drain relocation.

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems used a GSSI 1600 MHz antenna for this application to locate the reinforcement. All findings were marked directly on the concrete at customers request for easy interpretation. GPR was ideal for this application due to the active work site in the surrounding areas. GPR emits no radiation and is safe for others to work in the area near the scan location.
