Post Tension Locating - Salt Lake City, Utah

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems was contacted by a general contractor to locate the post tension running through multiple slabs of concrete in a residential high rise in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. It was critical that GPRS located the post tension due to safety concerns when just one post tension cable is cut. However, due to the unusual location of the core drills a lift was needed. The lift needed a crane to position it into the peculiar location of the core drills making for a large operation.

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems used a GSSI 1600 MHz antenna for this application to locate the reinforcement. All findings were marked directly on the concrete at customers request for easy interpretation. GPR was ideal for this application due to the active work site in the surrounding areas. GPR emits no radiation and is safe for others to work in the area near the scan location.

Sonar has also been used in Tooele, Ogden, Provo, West Valley, West Jordan, Park City, Heber City, and Orem, Utah. X-ray can be used to locate underground utilities, rebar, conduit, power, and gas lines.
