Concrete Scanning - Ogden, Utah

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems was contacted by Kier Construction in Ogden, Utah to locate the post tension reinforcement in a concrete slab. The contractor needed to cut eight core drills through the slab and was concerned about the safety of the contractors if the core driller hit a post tension cable. GPRS came out the next day and was able to successfully locate all of the post tension cables including the two conduits that were running through the core drill locations.

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems used a GSSI 1600 MHz antenna for this application to locate the reinforcement and conduits. All findings were marked directly on the concrete at customers request for easy interpretation. GPR was ideal for this application due to the active work site in the surrounding areas. GPR emits no radiation and is safe for others to work in the area near the scan location.
