Reinforcement Locate at Sundance Ski Resort – Sundance, Utah

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems was contacted by Cinnamon Creek Contractors to locate and draw out the rebar in a garage concrete slab. The contractor was required to determine if the concrete was strong enough to support the howitzer artillery cannon while firing to set off avalanche danger areas. The contractor needed GPRS to show the amount of rebar and the layout of the rebar to determine the strength of the concrete.

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems used a GSSI 1600 MHz antenna for this application to locate the reinforcement and conduits. All findings were marked directly on the concrete at customers request for easy interpretation. GPR was ideal for this application due to the active work site in the surrounding areas. GPR emits no radiation and is safe for others to work in the area near the scan location.
